Abstract
It is clear for moslems that there is no prohibition for them to perform social interaction with ahl al-kitab as long as it has no far consequence in aqidah confusion. What al-Quran clearly and specifically mentioned is about consuming the slaughter of ahl al-kitab and having marriage with them. Viewed from textual approach (dzahir an-nash), it is allowed to consume the slaughter of ahl al-kitab and have marriage with them, but it still remains an endless debate among muslim scholars weather it is permitted or prohibited.
