The existence of Arabic as a compulsory subject at the Pekalongan State Islamic Institute has been going on for a long time, but in the process there are still many students who experience difficulties. Therefore, the author tries to raise the problem into a study. The purpose of this research is to identify and find out the problems faced by non-Arabic studies students, especially students at the Faculty of Economics and Islamic Business who study Arabic as a compulsory subject, and provide solutions to any problems faced. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method, while the data collection technique is by using questionnaires distributed and filled out by students of the Faculty of Economics and Islamic Business as respondents and data sources in this study. The results of the study indicate that there are several factors that cause difficulties in learning Arabic for non-Arabic studies students, but apart from that, there is a desire for students to continue to study Arabic, considering that Arabic is an international language as well as a language important for Islam
