Abstract

The article discusses the history and political attitude of the Fadjar Asia newspaper from 1927 to 1930. The problem is about Fadjar Asia's political response to various political issues during the Indonesian national movement during its publication. The article aims to describe the newspaper's response to various issues surrounding the newspaper. The Islamicoriented Fadjar Asia newspaper responds to national phenomena in the Islamic paradigm. The implication is that the Islamic point of view can actually be brought in responding to various national problems that arose at that time. Articles are compiled using the historical method, namely heuristics in the form of tracing historical sources, especially the Fadjar Asia newspaper itself. The next process is criticism of the various sources collected through the interpretation stage, or the process of interpreting the historical data produced, then through the last stage, namely the writing of the history of the Fadjar Asia newspaper. The results showed that Fadjar Asia's political stance sided with the national movement by sticking to its ideology. This remained unchanged until the newspaper was closed due to a lack of production capital for its administrators. So that becomes the limitation of this research, where the discussion is limited to the publication period until the end of the Fadjar Asia newspaper.
