Abstract
Indonesian society is a multicultural society which consists of various ethnic groups, cultures, ethnicities, races, and religions. The important thing that must be faced by multicultural society is managing the diversity of traditions and cultures. Madrasah as a religious education institution has the responsibility to instill multicultural education, and it is stated in the Arabic language book to be taught. Multiculturalism can be seen simply in the Content Integration Process, an Equity Paedagogy, and teaching materials that can equip the knowledge of multiculturalism. This paper aims to examine : (1) the content of mulitikulturalisme in Arabic Language Subjects at Islamic Senior High School Pekalongan City: (2) Multiculturalism Learning Model in Arabic Language Subjects at Islamic Senior High School Pekalongan City; (3) Integration of Multicultural Values in Arabic Language Subjects at Islamic Senior High School Pekalongan City. The results of this study indicate that; First; Broadly speaking, books from the MA Arabic both based on the KTSP curriculum and the 2013 curriculum, emphasize more on the achievement of communicative competencies and linguistic competencies, while cultural competence has not been a very important concern. The content of multicultural education in Arabic language books is still on the visual level, such as images, people's names, place names, cultural sites. While the cultivation of substantive cultural values, such as values of justice, tolerance, equality, religious harmony has not yet gotten a place in the preparation of the material and the teaching process. Second: In general, Arabic language teachers have heard the concept of multiculturalism, however, they themselves do not know how the concepts were developed in teaching material and formulated in the learning method. This is realized, in their view that the most basic competencies taught are comunkative competence and linguistic competence (kifayah ittishaliyah wa lughawiyah). While the cultural competencies of most of them do not know in depth. Third: Efforts to internalize multicultural values in Arabic teaching material and also the learning model, in general have not been maximized. In fact, the importance of integrating (material) and internalizing (motede) multicultural values is clearly outlined implicitly and explicitly in the National Education System Law No. 20 of 2003, Permendiknas No. 20 of 2006, Permenag No. 2 of 2008, Competency standards, and basic competencies in each Arabic language curriculum in Islamic Senior High School.
